Modern Optimization Methods in Engineering (Invited Minisymposium)
This minisimposium is devoted to approaches and results related to
dfficult (largescale or even infinitedimensional, nonsmooth, uncertain,...) poblems arising in engineering. The applications to be discussed by the speakers are shape optimization of plates use, truss topology design among optimal mix in largescale power generation systems and telecommunications synthesis. The emphasis in all of the presentations is on using advanced optimization technique such as interior point methods, large scale bundle algorithms, new decomposition schemes and new methodology for robust optimization.
